The Mate
Mate
Ed Mahoney is certified by
the US Coast Guard in Sea Trial. This is required training
for Man Overboard, Fire Drills, and Boat Sinking.
An additional mate is required for parties over 20 people.
Ed is a school teacher in Penns Grove school system.
*Please be aware that the mate works for tips.
The Boat
The
back of the boat, as you can see in the
picture shown on the left, has room for up to 39 passengers.
The boat is certified for 40 passengers, a captain, and just 1 mate.
However, the captain feels that having 2 mates for 39 people instead will
give the passengers better service and better response to emergency
situations rather than having only 1 mate taking care of all 40 passengers.
